Ngong Ping Cable Car on Lantau Island connects Tung Chung to Ngong Ping. It is the fastest way to get to the Big Bhudda and the Po lin Monastery. With its 5.7 km length of ropeway it is one of the longest and most stunning cable cars in the world. You can choose from Standard Cabin or Crystal Cabin with glass floor. We took the Crystal Cabin. It was an amazing ride. Nobody was scared. Everybody had a lot of fun.

You see 360 degree stunning view over the island, the airport, the Big Buddha statue, the Hong Kong – Zuhai – Macau bridge, which is the longest sea crossing in the world.

At the day of our visit, fortunately there were no cueues. At the Terminal there are separate lines for people who have bought online tickets. That reduces the waiting time and is cheaper. You can buy online tickets on their website. We however bought the tickets at the counter.

After exiting the Cable Car in the Ngong Ping Village, you can walk to the Big Bhudda and the Po lin Monastery. From the bus station in the middle of the village you can take a bus to the Tai O Fishing Village.
